Camerata Solisti A new chamber music sociey comprised of elite professionals based in Southern California, Camerata Solisti strives to share a broad range of musical
styles with the community. The group is founded and led by Ukrainian violinist, Mira Khomik. Her vision for the ensemble includes presenting an eclectic range of repertoire. The ensemble performs music by the Baroque and Classical masters from Europe in addition to Latin American composers such as Ginastera and Piazzolla, as well as compositions from contemporary, classic rock and pop genres. The group prefers to remain a small ensemble, varying from two to twelve members, depending on the repertoire. Each member is a soloist in their own right, contributing their artistry to the preparation process, allowing the end production to represent the artistic vision of the entire group, and performing without conductor. Celebrating their opening season in 2008, Camerata Solisti has performed in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, and is rapidly gaining popularity and respect among musicians and music lovers alike. |
